Ah, London in a day! Well firstly, that will never be enough time! BUT if you only have 24 hours, then here is what I would do. Remember, my recommendations are for those who want a local feel rather than a tourist one.
Pro Tip: If you are staying in Central London, pick a location of London e.g. North, South, East or West and stick to that. Travelling around London is easy but you may be wasting time.
Morning:
- Start your day with a classic full English breakfast. Find a traditional cafe (try Regency Cafe near Pimlico for a proper greasy spoon experience) to fuel up for the day. Check out my blog post that lists my favourite ones in London.
- Immerse yourself in art at the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square or TATE Modern. Focus on a few key wings or artists to avoid getting overwhelmed.
Lunchtime:
- For lunch, I would head to one of the food markets that run either during the week or weekend. Check out my blog post for recommendations.
Afternoon:
- For those who want to enjoy the outdoors, I would go for a walk along a canal (check out the blog post) or a walk along the south bank.
- If you are looking to explore London’s vintage scene, here are my top recommendations!
Late afternoon:
- I personally believe you can’t not check out one of London’s many brilliant coffee shops or bakeries. So fuel up before heading out for an evening of fun!
Evening:
- Catch a show in the West End or visit one of the local comedy clubs (check out my blog post). From musicals to plays, there’s something for everyone. Book tickets in advance!
